Twas three weeks before Christmas, when all through the land, Mosquito Joe businesses were lending a hand. With smiles and warm hearts, they spread goodwill and cheer, to help those in need at this joyful time of year.
Mosquito Joe highly values giving back to local communities, and we encourage all of our franchisees to do so. With all the bargain shopping and over-eating, some of the magic of the season can get lost. So to keep the spark alive, we’d like to reflect on some of the generous initiatives our franchisees have participated in throughout the year to brighten the lives of others.
Mosquito Joe of Annapolis worked with the Maryland Food Bank for the third year in a row to help feed the hungry. Customers were asked to leave non-perishable items on their doorstep for the MoJo van to pick up on their day of service. Mosquito Joe then matched all total donations. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, they were able to donate 645 items weighing over 400 lbs. That’s over twice what they donated the year before. Way to go!
Mosquito Joe of Southwest Nashville works continuously with Nothing But Nets, a global organization that is fighting malaria in Africa by providing mosquito bed nets and education about mosquito control in Sub-Saharan Africa. For every existing customer that continued service in 2016, Mosquito Joe purchased a net through the cause. All in all, they were able to provide 486 nets to families in Rwanda!
Mosquito Joe of Charleston partnered with a local montessori school to donate $225 to their playground improvement project. All parents from the school that signed up with Mosquito Joe received $25 off their first service while Mosquito Joe also donated $25 to the playground project.
Mosquito Joe of East Memphis adopted a child for the holidays through their local child abuse prevention center. They filled her need list and her wish list with items like boots, a purse, a blanket, lotion, perfume, nail polish, and art supplies. They delivered the items to the center, making that little girl’s holiday season all the more special.
Mosquito Joe of Springfield held their end of season customer appreciation event in conjunction with a local non-profit boutique that donates all proceeds to the Cochlear Implant Awareness Foundation among other charitable organizations. All guests were encouraged to shop throughout the evening, generating new business and donations for the shop.
We are extremely proud of our Mosquito Joe franchisees and the year-round things they do to give back to their local communities. If you are interested in having a mosquito-free yard in 2017, find the Mosquito Joe location nearest you, and give them a call!
And from all of us at Mosquito Joe, have a happy holiday season!
