Veteran’s Day 2016

Veterans Day 2016

Veteran’s Day is a chance for us to honor the bravery and service for U.S. service members, past and present. We are lucky enough to have our Corporate office right down the street from the largest naval base in the world, which makes Virginia Beach a vibrant military community. It is such a privilege to live among many of those who are dedicated and have given so much for our country. Since we started franchising in 2013 we’ve taken great pride in being a company that can offer veterans an option to not only own their own business, but to utilize the skills the military gave them.

For the third year, Mosquito Joe is listed as a Top Franchise Opportunities for Veterans by Franchise Business Review. Franchising offers veterans a chance to apply leadership skills as a business owner while continuing to serve their communities in a team environment. The Corporate support available helps ease any lack of business experience that veterans may have. This might be one in seven franchise owners nationwide is a veteran!

Veteran's Day 2016Not only do we live among veterans in Virginia Beach, but we work among them and their family members too! A large portion of the Mosquito Joe Corporate staff is either a veteran themselves or is related/married to one. Let’s get to know some of them!

Our Chief Operating Officer Brian Garrison retired in 2012 after serving over twenty years in the U.S. Navy focused on naval aviation. Learn more about him in an article from Entrepreneur Magazine titled Call of Duty. It’s a great article about how military skills transition well to owning a franchise. We’re so glad he’s on the Mosquito Joe team and immensely grateful for his service. He’s pictured to the right with his wife Melissa and kids Connor and Ruby after returning from a deployment aboard the USS Eisenhower in 2009.

Veteran's Day 2016Valerie Sanetrik, one of Mosquito Joe’s Franchise Business Coaches, dedicates her work hours to being the right hand guide for many of our franchise owners across the country. However, Valerie also serves as a Second Lieutenant Medical Officer for the Maryland National Guard. See her pictured below as she attends a basic officer leadership course.

Another one of our Franchise Business Coaches, Nick Sell, came to Mosquito Joe after serving 10 years in the U.S. Navy. He specialized in communications and intel with Seal Team Six and the NATO Office of Security.

A fun fact about veterans and the Mosquito Joe Corporate office is that we have our own unofficial spouse’s club! Check out the photos below to see how many of our gals are married to or dating active duty and retired members of the armed forces.

Veteran's Day 2016

We couldn’t be more proud of all the veterans and active duty military members that are part of the Mosquito Joe system. A sincere thank you to all who have served to protect this country.
