A Veteran’s Day Salute

Post of A Veteran's Day Salute

Veteran’s Day is a chance for us to honor the bravery and service for U.S. service members, past and Family Shotpresent. At the Mosquito Joe corporate office in Virginia Beach, we’re privileged to be right down the street from the largest Naval Base in the world, which puts us in some pretty amazing company in our community. It is such a privilege to live among many of those who have given so much for our country. When someone joins the armed forces, they dedicate themselves to protect the community they love. Since we started franchising in 2013 we’ve taken great pride in being a company that can offer veterans an option to not only own their own business, but to utilize the skills the military gave them. For the second year, we were mentioned in the Franchise Business Review’s Top Franchises for Veterans report.

When we stopped to reflect on living among so many veterans, we realized we worked among them too! Pictured to the right with his wife Melissa, and kids Connor and Ruby after returning from a deployment aboard the USS Eisenhower in 2009 is Captain Brian Garrison. Brian retired in 2012 after serving over twenty years in the U.S. Navy and now serves as our Chief Operating Officer. Our own GI Joe was even featured in this month’s Entrepreneur Magazine in an article titled Call of Duty. It’s a great article about how military skills transition well to owning a franchise. He’s the perfect guy to head up our operations team, yes? We’re so glad he’s on the Mosquito Joe team and immensely grateful for his service.

Also a fun fact about veterans and the corporate office? We’ve got our own unofficial spouse’s club! Check out the photos below to see how many of our gals are married to active duty and retired members of the armed forces.
