Hopefully you are done with costume making, candy purchasing and ghost prepping because today is Halloween! The Celts used the day to mark the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter, and also believed that this transition between the seasons was a bridge to the world of the dead (eek!).
Thankfully, over the years Halloween transitioned from a somber pagan ritual to a day of silly costumes and sweet treats for kids, but it can still be the bridge to cooler temperatures. Until the weather stays consistently below fifty five degrees there is still mosquito activity, so you may have more than goblins and witches to watch for this weekend. Give your local Mosquito Joe a call and make sure all of your Halloween festivities in the yard this weekend are itch free.
To give you a little bit of entertainment (and maybe some ideas if you’re a last minute shopper/maker!) here are are some pictures of our staff in Halloween costumes! See if you can take figure out who is behind the masks and costumes! Leave your guesses in the comments below. Whatever you do this evening, stay safe and enjoy the tricks and treats! Happy Halloween!
