The Mosquito Joe Barrier Spray Process
-
When you contract Mosquito Joe of Salisbury-Rehoboth Beach for mosquito control, a trained technician will treat your yard with an effective barrier spray that eliminates biters for up to 21 days.
-
- Using a backpack sprayer designed for precise application, your technician targets shrubs and plants with a barrier spray that kills mosquitoes on contact and bonds to foliage, where it acts as a mosquito repellent for weeks to come.
- Within 30 minutes of spraying, your yard is ready for family and pets to come out and play.
- We also inspect your property for active larvae populations and treat them accordingly. Your technician will help you identify potential mosquito breeding grounds in your yard and recommend ways to eliminate standing water.
- These notes will be left on the post-service door hanger at the end of the treatment.
- Every three weeks, our team will return to treat your yard.
Barrier Spray Chemicals and Safety
All of the barrier spray chemicals we use are synthetic forms of pyrethrins called pyrethroids. Pyrethrins are insecticides that are derived from a naturally occurring compound called pyrethrum found in the chrysanthemum flower. Pyrethroids are used in numerous commercial products that consumers use to control insects such as household pets insecticides, pet shampoos, and sprays, and even lice shampoos applied directly to the scalp. The standard barrier spray treatment is effective on other pests such as fleas, ticks, and some flies as well.

Over the years, I have used four different mosquito control services, and Mosquito Jed is hands down the best in the business. I briefly tried a competing local business for half a season because of a deal that seemed too good to pass up, but as the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for." I quickly returned to Jed. Based out of Salisbury, Maryland, the owner, Jed, runs an incredible operation. His professionalism and dedication to customer service are second to none, and his right-hand man, Patrick, is equally exceptional. They truly stand behind their work with a no-questions-asked guarantee. Our deck is located in a heavily wooded area, and on more than one occasion after heavy rains, mosquitoes threatened to ruin our outdoor time. Every single time, Mosquito Jed promptly came out to eliminate the problem before it became a disaster. Additionally, they are incredibly easy to work with and always flexible if we need to adjust our schedule for family visits or special events. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
