Comprehensive Treatment Process At Mosquito Joe, we use the “Texas Two-Step” method from Texas A&M University to control fire ants. We begin by broadcasting a specialized fire ant bait across the area during spring and fall. The worker ants diligently transport this bait back to their colony to be consumed. Consequently, the colony’s decline occurs swiftly as we neutralize the queen. Our second step involves treating any surviving or newly formed mounds directly with contact dust. This occurs within 7-10 days of initial treatment. By combining our treatment process with our knowledge of weather conditions in Texas and ant foraging patterns, we have created a very effective system to control fire ants in Mansfield.
