What’s Inside of Our Barrier Treatment Spray?

All of the barrier spray chemicals we use are pyrethroids, which are synthetic pyrethrin’s. Pyrethrin’s are insecticides derived from pyrethrum, a naturally occurring compound found in chrysanthemum flowers. Pyrethroids are found in a variety of commercial products used by consumers to control insects, including household pet insecticides, pet shampoos and sprays, and lice shampoos applied directly to the scalp. The standard barrier spray treatment is also effective against other pests such as fleas, ticks, and some flies.
