Having them come out allows me to be in my yard without being attacked by mosquitos. It’s now so relaxing. The only downfall is the cost of treatments :(

GM, however I don’t believe the service I received yesterday Friday that the service guy did not hit all the areas when I heard him outside. I came down to shut two of my doors on my patio and he was already going along my tree and I don’t believe he hit my back patio because the doors were open and normally they do not. when I asked him before leaving, he said he had hit the areas. My ring didn’t show the one side of my patio where the door was open that I saw him just walk by it and he was heading to his truck and he was not spraying, but I’ll give it a try, and hopefully will still be enjoyable. Thank you.

Tick Control FAQs & Answers
Since 2010, Mosquito Joe professionals have been committed to keeping the outdoors fun for everyone. This includes providing environmentally sound pest control services that protect you and your family from stinging and biting insects. It also means using our many years of experience to answer your questions. Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about our tick control services.
-
Some tick control treatments contain Tetrachlorvinphos (TCVP), a powerful chemical that gets rid of ticks but also presents a threat to people and their pets. To make sure all of our clients are protected, Mosquito Joe takes great care to formulate our tick pest control to effectively rid your property of the nasty biters without the use of TCVP. We do recommend that you allow our tick control spray to dry for a full 30 minutes before allowing pets or kids to go back into the treated area. Once it has dried, all of our treatments are well tolerated by people and pets.
-
Due to the complex tick life cycle, treatments should be done monthly. Start in the spring when the ground temperature reaches 45℉ and continue past the first hard ground freeze.
-
When you work with Mosquito Joe to secure your property from ticks, we send a service professional to your property once a month. They will apply a liquid insecticide formulated to target ticks along your property lines and treat your shrubs, ornamental plantings, and any overgrown vegetation with our tick control. They will also pay close attention to any structures, like decks, patios, sheds, dog houses, kennels, pet bedding, sidewalks, and pathways. We ask that you keep any kids or pets inside during our tick pest control treatment and for at least 30 minutes following the application to allow it to dry.
-
Tick control services are highly effective at removing existing ticks on your property. But for optimum protection, we encourage you to supplement our treatments with your own tick-prevention steps. While our treatments get rid of the ticks currently on your property, your efforts can deny new invaders the shelter they seek. By coordinating our tactics, we can provide a more comprehensive property protection strategy—together.
-
The best treatment for ticks depends heavily on the type of tick and the environment where they live. Keeping up with yard maintenance will help to prevent tick infestations before they start. However, if they’ve already made your home their own, here are some things that can help:
- Barrier sprays
- Infrared-light powered heated insect traps
- Tick tubes
- Essential oils
- Diatomaceous earth power
-
While you’ll see fewer ticks after your first treatment, it’s not unusual to still spot a few on your property. But don’t worry! Treatments can take up to a week to fully kick in. Those little biters you see are scrambling to get away from your property!
-
Sometimes! Other insects, rodents, and some deer can also be repelled by your tick control treatments. In fact, some barrier sprays have been created specifically to repel mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas with one blend! Other eco-friendly treatments, including garlic, apple cider vinegar, and essential oils, are also good at preventing other pests from moving into your space.
-
The best tick prevention combines comprehensive pest inspections, tailored tick treatments, and developing a plan to make your property less attractive to nasty biters. Out of approximately 850 tick species worldwide, 90 make their home in the U.S. Some have a hard exoskeleton; others have a tough, leathery exterior. Each species has its unique susceptibility and defense to chemical pesticides. Your locally owned and operated Mosquito Joe will know exactly which treatment to use to effectively repel the ticks that call your area home. Although some tick species are more resistant to certain insecticides, similar ecological needs make them all sensitive to the tick prevention steps you can take to protect your property. Part of being proactive is understanding things like how far ticks jump and what they feed on. As it turns out, ticks can’t jump or fly! That’s a myth. They can only crawl. They sit on the tips of grass and shrubs waiting for warm-blooded hosts to pass by. When brushed by a moving animal or person, ticks quickly let go of the vegetation and climb onto the host to bite. To avoid this, use tick prevention methods of your own and let Mosquito Joe provide our tick removal service for your yard. Our tick control barrier sprays treat the zone where ticks live and create a barrier against these intruders.
-
Our targeted tick extermination tactics make sure all of your bases are covered. Our tick exterminators will focus on areas where we know ticks are hiding through our traditional and eco-friendly treatments, including wooded areas, tall grasses and shrubs, yards, gardens, and more. This targeted approach aims to get rid of active tick populations and ensure near-immediate results. Start preparing for tick season with Mosquito Joe and take advantage of our targeted tick control services today!
-
With help from Mosquito Joe, you can get ahead of any ticks, mosquitoes, and other outdoor pest control issues on your property by denying these pests the habitat they crave. Here are some easy things to do to supplement your tick prevention for yards:
- Keep grass mowed and trees trimmed to cut down on tick breeding places.
- Move wood piles away from the home to remove tick hiding places.
- Keep pets out of thickly wooded areas where tick activity is high.
- Move swing sets, sandboxes, and other play areas away from wooded areas.
- Wear long sleeves and pants when walking in wooded or grassy areas to avoid tick bites.
- Wash clothing immediately after coming inside and inspect kids and pets for ticks.
- Install tick tubes around your property for broader, long-term prevention.
- Use professional Mosquito Joe outdoor tick spray services like barrier spray every three weeks to protect your yard and family from ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes.
- It may take some work, but it is possible to have control over outdoor spaces with ticks and other insects!
